The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the names of House of Representatives aspirants marked “not cleared” ahead of the party’s National Assembly primaries for the 2027 general elections.

The list, released on Saturday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, affected aspirants across Ondo, Rivers, Bauchi, Ebonyi and Kogi states.

According to the APC, the screening exercise was conducted in line with the party’s guidelines and internal procedures to determine the eligibility of aspirants seeking to participate in the primaries.

In Ondo State, seven aspirants were disqualified from the House of Representatives race.

Those listed as “not cleared” include Hon. Adefisoye Tajudeen for Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency; Olusegun Victor Ategbole and Seun Oluwashina Ajongbolo for Akoko South-East/South-West; and Rt. Hon. Arowole Ayodeji Samuel for Owo/Ose Federal Constituency.

Others are Morufu Tosin Ibrahim, Oseni Oyeniyi, and Olaleye John Adedipe, all contesting for Akoko North-East/North-West Federal Constituency.

In Bauchi State, Dr. Bashir Ibrahim Bello was disqualified from contesting the Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency seat.

Similarly, in Ebonyi State, Hon. Idu Igariwe was marked “not cleared” for the Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency contest.

The party also disqualified Sanni Salau Ogembe from the Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency race in Kogi State.

In Rivers State, four aspirants failed the screening process. They include retired Air Commodore John Azubuike Opara for Port Harcourt Federal Constituency; Hon. Anderson Allison Igbiki for Okrika/Ogu-Bolo; Awaji Imombek D. Abirite for Andoni/Opobo-Nkoro; and Hon. Boma Goodhead for Asari-Toru/Akuku-Toru Federal Constituency.

The APC, however, did not state specific reasons for the disqualification of the affected aspirants.

Meanwhile, the party’s direct primaries recorded mixed outcomes in some states.

In Katsina State, Jamila Mani, Special Assistant on Girl Child Education and Development to Governor Dikko Radda, emerged winner of the APC primary for Mani/Bindawa Federal Constituency.

In Adamawa State, confusion trailed the conduct of the House of Representatives direct primaries in parts of the state following the reported absence of electoral officials in several wards.

Party members in Girei, Yola North and Yola South reportedly waited for hours without communication from party officials regarding the commencement of the exercise.

The APC primaries are part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
