APC welcomes newly elected FCT council chairmen
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and the Chairman of the party’s National Campaign Council, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, have received the newly elected chairmen of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT area councils.
Very Nigerian reports that the chairmen were formally welcomed by the party leadership following the conclusion of the local government elections in the nation’s capital.
Candidates of the ruling APC secured victory in five of the six area councils, while the Peoples Democratic Party won one council seat.
The African Democratic Congress, ADC, the party housing the coalition of opposition leaders failed to win any of the council.
APC won the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Abaji, Kuje, Bwari and Kwali.
In a post on its official X handle on Monday, the party said the newly elected chairmen were received by its leaders, including the Party’s National Working Committee, NWC.
