APC’s Bulabari emerges winner in Rivers Assembly bye-election
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Henrietta Bulabari, has emerged winner of the Khana II State House of Assembly Constituency bye-election in Rivers State, polling 7,647 votes.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Angela Briggs, declared her duly elected after announcing the final results at the collation centre, stating that she met all constitutional and legal requirements.
According to the official breakdown, the African Action Alliance (AA) secured 46 votes, the APC polled 7,647 votes, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) garnered 37 votes, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) received 23 votes, while the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) obtained 47 votes.
Out of 71,914 registered voters in the constituency, 7,834 were accredited to participate in the bye-election. A total of 7,800 valid votes were recorded, while 34 ballots were rejected.
Party agents were present during the collation and declaration of results.
Reacting to her victory, Bulabari expressed delight at the outcome, describing the exercise as free, fair, peaceful and successful.
She pledged to initiate impactful constituency projects and ensure effective representation for the people of Khana II at the State House of Assembly.
