Appeal Court affirms suspension Anyanwu, Ajibade, others
The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has upheld the suspension of former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu, along with the party’s Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade; Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha; and National Organising Secretary, Umaru Bature.
In its ruling on Monday, the appellate court also affirmed the earlier judgment of the Federal High Court delivered by Justice James Omotosho.
The suspended officials were initially sanctioned by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP on November 1, 2025.
The Court of Appeal further upheld the October 31, 2025 judgment of the Abuja Federal High Court which restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising the outcome of the PDP’s 2025 National Convention.
The decision reinforces the earlier ruling that halted the recognition of the controversial convention and validates the disciplinary action taken against the affected party officials.
