BREAKING: All 38 abducted CAC worshippers in Kwara rescued – Tinubu confirms, give update on Niger abduction
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed the rescue of all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, as well as 51 students from a Catholic school in Niger State.
In a statement shared on X on Sunday by Olusegun Dada, his special assistant on social media, Tinubu praised the efforts of security forces in securing the release of the victims.
“Thanks to the efforts of our security forces over the last few days, all the 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, have been rescued,” the president said.
“I am equally happy that 51 out of the missing students of the Catholic School in Niger State have been recovered.”
Tinubu added that he is closely monitoring the security situation across the country and receiving continuous updates from the frontline.
“Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety, and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people,” he said.
Very Nigerian had earlier reported that CAC, Eruku had resumed worship this Sunday amid heavy security presence.
The successful operations come amid a period of heightened concern over mass abductions in Nigeria, particularly targeting schools and places of worship.
