The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the expulsion of several members, including Hon. Leke Abejide and Nafiu Bala Gombe, over alleged violations of the party’s constitution and disciplinary code.

The decision was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, following resolutions reached at the ADC National Convention held on April 14, 2026, in Abuja.

According to the statement, the expulsions were approved by delegates during the convention presided over by the party’s National Chairman, David Mark.

“The African Democratic Congress (ADC) wishes to inform the public that, pursuant to resolutions reached at its National Convention held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the Rainbow Event Centre, Garki, Abuja, the Party has approved the expulsion of certain individuals for acts deemed inconsistent with its constitution, values, and disciplinary framework,” the statement read.

Those expelled include Leke Abejide, Nafiu Bala Gombe, Kingsley Temitope Ogga, Don Norman Obinna, Kennedy Odion, Clement Ehigiator, Stella Chukwuma, Patrick Ambut, Johny Tovie Derek, Duke Dick, and Elias Adikwu.

The party said the action followed the adoption of a disciplinary motion tabled before delegates at the convention.

It stated that the affected individuals cease to be members of the ADC with immediate effect and are free to align with any other political platform of their choice.

“Consequently, they are now at liberty to explore other political platforms, and any political party that may wish to receive them is free to do so,” the statement added.

The ADC reaffirmed its commitment to internal discipline, accountability, and democratic principles as it positions itself as a credible opposition platform ahead of future elections.
