BREAKING: Tinubu returns home after four weeks vacation in Europe
President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after spending four weeks in Europe on what the Presidency described as a working vacation.
The President’s aircraft landed at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 6:22 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
Tinubu departed Abuja on August 30 for London, where he spent about a week before proceeding to Paris, France.
The Presidency had initially announced a three-week working vacation but later extended the President’s stay in Europe by a few days.
During his stay in Paris, Tinubu attended a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and held meetings with business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group.
The President is expected to remain in Lagos for activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary on October 1.
As part of the Independence Day activities, Tinubu is expected to attend the premiere of a movie honouring the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
The Presidency had also said the President would hold official engagements in Lagos before returning to Abuja.
His return to Nigeria marks the end of his four-week stay in Europe.
