Drama as APC crowd chants ‘Sai Atiku’ during Tinubu solidarity walk in Zamfara

A mild drama occurred on Wednesday in Zamfara State when a crowd attending a solidarity walk organised in support of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid was heard chanting the name of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

In a video from the event, the crowd could be heard chanting, “Sai Atiku,” despite the gathering being organised to demonstrate support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The solidarity walk was held in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, to appreciate Tinubu for appointing former Governor Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar as the Director-General of his Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election.

The event was organised by the A.A. Yari Political Organisation in collaboration with the Shehu Movement Organisation and the Yari 774 Initiative for Asiwaju 2027.

The organisers said Yari’s appointment would strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) and help propel the party towards what they described as the “promised land”.

Addressing supporters at the event, the Zamfara State APC Chairman, Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji, expressed confidence that Tinubu would receive massive support from voters in the state in the 2027 election.

The chairman said the party was mobilising its supporters across the state to ensure victory for Tinubu and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

The unexpected “Sai Atiku” chant, however, provided a striking moment at the gathering, as Atiku is expected to be one of the major opposition figures seeking the presidency in 2027.

President Tinubu recently constituted his Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 re-election campaign and appointed Yari, a former governor and serving APC chieftain, as its Director-General.
