Ex-AGF Malami challenges EFCC interim property forfeiture
Abubakar Malami, former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), has filed a legal application contesting the interim forfeiture of several of his properties that were seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The move follows a January 6 ruling by Emema Nwite, a judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which ordered the interim forfeiture of 57 properties believed to be linked to proceeds of unlawful activities.
The properties were allegedly linked to Malami and two of his sons, Abdulaziz Malami and Abiru Rahman Malami.
According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the properties are valued at N213,234,120,000.
