Ex-Nasarawa PDP guber candidate Ombugadu defects to APC
David Ombugadu, former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, has officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ombugadu, widely known as Davematics, completed his defection on Tuesday after resigning from the PDP. His resignation, first reported by DAILY POST, followed weeks of speculation about his political trajectory.
The former two-term member of the House of Representatives had submitted his resignation in a letter dated February 28, 2026, addressed to the PDP chairman of Ikka Wangibi Ward in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area.
Following his move to the APC, Ombugadu also announced his intention to contest for the Nasarawa North Senatorial District seat in the 2027 elections, signaling a new chapter in his political career.
