Federal High Court issues 2025 December vacation timetable, names judges on duty

The Federal High Court has announced its 2025 Christmas Vacation and released the official roster of Judges who will sit during the break.

According to a circular signed by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, KSS, OFR, FCIArb (UK), the court will begin its Christmas Vacation on Friday, 19th December 2025.

The schedule is in line with Order 46, Rule 4(c) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019 (as amended).

Court activities across all Judicial Divisions will resume on Wednesday, 7th January 2026.

During the vacation, essential Judicial Divisions, Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt, will remain open to the public. Only urgent matters will be heard, including cases on the enforcement of Fundamental Rights, issues involving the arrest or release of vessels, and matters of national importance.

The Vacation Judges for each Division are listed as follows:

Abuja Judicial Division:

Hon. Justice Emeka Nwite

Hon. Justice M. S. Liman

Lagos Judicial Division:

Hon. Justice Akintayo Aluko

Hon. Justice Isaac D. Dipeolu

Port Harcourt Judicial Division:

Hon. Justice P. M. Ayua

Hon. Justice A. T. Mohammed

Enugu Judicial Division:

Hon. Justice F. O. G. Ogunbanjo

Chief Judge Tsoho also extended warm Christmas and New Year greetings to all Honourable Judges of the Federal High Court.
