Taiwo Adegbodu, one half of the Yoruba gospel music duo Adegbodu Twins, has died.

The news of his passing was announced on Sunday through a statement posted on the group’s official Facebook page by their management team.

In an emotional message, the family described his sudden death as a painful loss that has left relatives, friends and fans in deep sorrow.

Fellow gospel artiste Esther Igbekele also confirmed the development on her Instagram page, where she shared a photo of the late singer and paid tribute to him in Yoruba.

As of the time of filing this report, the cause of death had not been disclosed.

Taiwo performed alongside his twin brother, Kehinde Adegbodu, and both gained prominence in the Yoruba gospel music scene following the release of their debut album Faratimi (Lean on Me) in 1999.

Over the years, the duo built a reputation for spiritually uplifting songs deeply rooted in Yoruba culture, earning them a loyal following within Nigeria’s Christian music community.

Some of their popular songs include Shower Your Blessing, God Concert, Emi Mimo, Igbagbo Dun, Ma Beru and Adura Mi Gba.

The death of Taiwo Adegbodu has since triggered an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow gospel musicians across the country.
