It’s too early to judge Tinubu’s gov’t, Nigerians must be patient – Jide Kosoko
Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has defended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, urging Nigerians to allow the government more time to implement its policies before passing judgment.
Speaking in an interview with FeelrightnewsTV, Kosoko said it was premature to assess the administration, comparing governance to the construction of a building, which should only be evaluated after completion.
“If you are building a house, you cannot assess such a building and give it a pass mark until the building is completed,” he said.
The veteran actor acknowledged that President Tinubu is not infallible, stressing that no leader can achieve perfection.
“Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not God. That means he cannot be perfect,” Kosoko stated.
Kosoko also alleged that opposition groups and some activists were influencing younger Nigerians, particularly members of Generation Z, to criticise the administration.
“Let me tell you, what those opposing Tinubu are projecting for you to say is what you will be saying. What they have crafted that they want you to carry in your head is what you will carry,” he said.
“They know you, Gen Z. You are easy to manipulate and control. Once they control you, you will all go on overdrive.”
Despite defending the administration, the actor admitted that many Nigerians are experiencing economic hardship.
He, however, argued that direct cash transfers to citizens would not be practical because of Nigeria’s large population.
