Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has convened an emergency security meeting following recent bandit attacks in parts of the state.

The meeting, held on Friday at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, focused on reviewing and strengthening the state’s security architecture to tackle emerging threats and improve coordinated responses among security agencies.

Governor Idris expressed concern over the recent attacks and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring peace and protecting lives and property across the state.

He assured residents that the government would continue to work closely with security agencies and stakeholders to address insecurity, stressing that every effort would be made to ensure citizens can “sleep with both eyes closed.”

The governor said the meeting was part of ongoing measures to develop lasting solutions to the security challenges affecting some communities in the state.

“My administration will not tolerate or spare anyone found to be an informant. Anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law, and justice will be served,” he said.

While commending security agencies operating in the state, the governor noted that their efforts have made a significant impact in maintaining peace and harmony.

“I urge all residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible information. People should not withhold information; they should share it promptly,” he added.
