Man City beat Arsenal 2-0 to win League Cup
Manchester City capitalised on a costly error by Arsenal goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to secure a 2-0 victory in the League Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.
The breakthrough came in the second half when Kepa failed to deal with a cross from Rayan Cherki, allowing the ball to slip through his grasp and fall kindly to Nico O’Reilly, who made no mistake in putting City ahead.
O’Reilly doubled the advantage just four minutes later, finishing off a swift attacking move to effectively put the contest beyond Arsenal’s reach.
The victory marked Manchester City’s ninth League Cup title and handed manager Pep Guardiola a record fifth triumph in the competition, further cementing his legacy in English football.
