‘Most Nigerian Pastors are after money, not truth’ – Charly Boy
Maverick singer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has criticised Nigerian Christian clerics, saying that 99 per cent of them are more focused on making money from their churches than speaking truth to power.
In a recent episode of the KAA Truths podcast, the Area Fada crooner condemned some pastors for staying silent on the country’s economic and security challenges.
He also accused certain clerics of collaborating with corrupt politicians to take advantage of ordinary Nigerians.
Charly Boy emphasised that despite residing in Nigeria, he doesn’t think or behave like most Nigerians and would not fall for the sanctimonious antics of some Nigerian pastors.
“All the pastors I know of in Nigeria, 99 per cent of them are useless. It is just a business that they are running,” he claimed.
“I may live in Nigeria but Nigeria does not live in me. I don’t believe like you. I don’t want to think like you people. I’m not in the same class with you people. I come from a different space and time,” he added
