Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has sworn in 30 commissioners, 25 elected local government chairmen with their deputies, and several board members.

The oaths of office and allegiance were administered by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik, who was represented by Justice Maimuna Abubakar.

The ceremony took place at the Hauwa Wali Multi-purpose Hall in Minna.

Speaking at the event, Governor Bago said the appointees were selected based on their proven track records. He urged them to commit themselves to the “New Niger agenda,” aimed at building a sustainable, prosperous, and fair state for all citizens.

He noted the need for them to reflect on the past with a view to building a sustainable, prosperous, and egalitarian Niger State.

Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman, in his remarks called on the newly sworn-in public office holders to be committed in the discharge of their duties, pointing out that their commitment will go a long way in making the New Niger agenda a success.

The board members, which include the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board, the Secondary Education Board, and the Law Reform Commission were sworn-in.

Some of the newly sworn-in public office holders expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and promised to work assiduously for the realisation of the New Niger agenda.

The officials pledged to work diligently to realize the governor’s agenda for the growth and development of the state.
