Nigerian Navy Batch 39 Recruitment 2026: Application opens October 2 — Requirements, How to Apply

The Nigerian Navy is set to commence its 2026 recruitment exercise for Batch 39 of the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS), with applications scheduled to open on October 2, 2026.

Nigerian Navy Batch 39 Recruitment Requirements

According to the recruitment guidelines, applicants must meet the following general requirements:

• Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
• Must possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
• Must meet the prescribed age requirement for the applicant’s qualification category.
• Must meet the minimum height requirement of 1.69 metres for males and 1.65 metres for females.
• Must be medically, physically and psychologically fit.
• Must have no previous criminal conviction.
• Must be able to communicate in basic English.
• Must possess the educational or professional qualification required for the selected category.

The Navy’s recruitment platform also provides different entry categories covering areas such as seaman duties, engineering, medical services, ICT, communications, logistics and other specialist fields.

Age Requirements

For applicants seeking entry with O’Level qualifications such as SSCE, WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or GCE, the applicable age range is 18 to 22 years as of December 31, 2026.

Applicants with qualifications such as OND, NCE and certain professional or specialist qualifications may be eligible for the higher age limit applicable to their category.

O’Level Qualification Requirements

Candidates applying through the O’Level entry category are required to possess at least five credits, including:

On September 21, the Navy said the circulating notice at the time was not an authorised publication and advised the public to disregard recruitment information from unofficial sources.

The Navy’s current recruitment platform, however, now displays a Batch 39 application schedule beginning October 2, 2026.

Applicants should therefore verify the application portal and recruitment information directly through the Nigerian Navy’s authorised channels before submitting their details or documents.
