No opposition to Tinubu in the North, President will sweep Northern votes in 2027 — Gov Uba Sani

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure more votes from northern Nigeria in the 2027 general election than he did during the 2023 presidential poll.

The governor attributed his confidence to what he described as the president’s developmental achievements across the northern region.

Sani made the remarks on Tuesday during an interview monitored by Politics Nigeria.

According to him, voters in the North will assess President Tinubu’s performance in office rather than base their decisions on religion, ethnicity or tribal sentiments.

He also dismissed claims that the 2027 general election would be a contest between the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Nigerian people, describing such arguments as unfounded.

“The claim that the 2027 election will be between the APC and Nigerians is the laziest argument,” the governor said.

Sani maintained that President Tinubu has executed more development projects in northern Nigeria than any previous leader, insisting that his position is supported by available data and statistics.

He further rejected suggestions that the North would turn against the president in the next election, describing such claims as baseless.

“I can tell you categorically, as the governor of Kaduna State, that Tinubu will get more votes in 2027 than he got in 2023. The North will massively vote for him,” Sani stated.

The governor said the president’s record in infrastructure, development and governance would ultimately shape the voting pattern in the region ahead of the 2027 general election.
