The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory Council, has congratulated Rt. Hon. Muktar Aliyu Betara on the occasion of his 59th birthday, describing him as a leader whose service and commitment continue to make a strong impact across the country.
In a message signed by the Chairman of the Council, Comrade Grace Ike, the NUJ praised Hon. Betara for his exemplary leadership as Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on the Federal Capital Territory.
The Union noted that his work reflects humility, resilience, and a strong focus on people-oriented development.
Hon. Betara, who has represented the Biu, Kwaya Kusar, Bayo, and Shani Federal Constituency since 2007, is celebrated for building a remarkable public service career anchored on unity, accountability, and community progress.
The NUJ highlighted that under his leadership, the FCT has enjoyed notable infrastructural improvements and better budgetary attention, leading to enhanced services and improved living conditions for residents of Abuja.
The Union also commended his humanitarian contributions, which include providing medical equipment, supporting youth and women empowerment, assisting vulnerable communities, and developing key projects such as health centres, streetlights, ambulances, and recreational facilities.
These gestures, the statement noted, show his commitment to making life better for the people he serves.
As he marks this milestone, the NUJ said the celebration is not only about his birthday but also about honouring a legacy built on compassion, unity and dedication to national development.
The Union prayed for more strength, wisdom, and good health for Hon. Betara as he continues his work for the country.
“Happy 59th Birthday, Rt. Hon. Muktar Aliyu Betara. Your leadership remains a beacon of inspiration,” the statement added.
