Obi–Kwankwaso ticket will drive Nigeria’s rebirth – Obidient Movement
The Anambra State Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Charles Anueyiagu, has called for a political alliance between Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, describing it as a potential catalyst for Nigeria’s rebirth and national renewal.
Speaking during a media briefing in Awka on Thursday, Anueyiagu urged both the Obidient and Kwankwasiyya movements to collapse their structures into a single political platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He argued that such a merger would strategically unite northern and southern support bases, significantly boosting electoral chances and presenting a formidable alternative force in the political landscape.
According to him, both movements share a common vision centred on good governance, accountability, and national development, making collaboration a logical step forward.
“The Obidient and Kwankwasian movements are strong independent bodies serving the same purpose—to give Nigeria good governance,” he said.
Anueyiagu also referenced the outcome of the 2023 presidential election, noting that a combined vote strength of both leaders would create a more competitive front.
“In the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi scored over eight million votes, while Rabiu Kwankwaso recorded over one million votes. If combined, the figures present a formidable force,” he stated.
He maintained that lessons from the last election cycle have strengthened the resolve of supporters, expressing confidence that a unified approach would yield better results in future contests.
Beyond electoral strategy, he stressed that national transformation requires collective effort across ethnic, regional, and political divides.
“National rebirth is not the responsibility of one group but a shared duty. Nigerians must unite to confront hardship, restore accountability, and build a better future,” he added.
