Osun APC Primary: Senator Fadeyi loses ticket to Kunle Adegoke
The Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Olubiyi Fadeyi, popularly known as Ajagunla, has lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial ticket to Osogbo-born legal practitioner, Kunle Adegoke.
Fadeyi, who hails from Ila-Orangun, was elected into the Senate in 2023 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He, however, defected to the APC in 2024 alongside five other members of the National Assembly.
Adegoke, a legal luminary and prominent APC chieftain, had previously contested for the party’s governorship ticket in 2024 but was later disqualified from the race, which eventually produced Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, as the party’s candidate.
Announcing the result on Monday night, the Chairman of Primary Committee, Mr Ayo Bayo announced Adegoke as the winner of Osun Central Senatorial APC ticket.
According to him, “Yomi Ogunwale holds 2,925 votes, Akintunde Adegboye holds 342 votes, Fadeyi Olubiyi 13,138 votes, Kunle Adegoke holds 26,655 votes and Olu Fakeye got 62 votes.
“In Osun Central Senatorial district, Kunle Adegoke, SAN won the ticket of the party.”
