Parents of Nigerian Scholars abroad cry out, storm Finance Ministry in Abuja

Parents of Nigerian students studying abroad on government scholarships staged a protest on Monday, blocking the entrance of the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja.

They demanded the payment of long-overdue allowances owed to their children.

The protesters said their children, who are beneficiaries of various bilateral education agreements and scholarship schemes, have not received stipends for 16 months. They also highlighted an additional eight-month shortfall that remains unresolved.
