Peter Obi is my candidate; Gov Oborevwori fears me, NDC – Omo-Agege
Former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has announced his support for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Omo-Agege made the disclosure while featuring on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Wednesday, stating that his political position for the next presidential election is already decided.
He also commented on internal political tensions in Delta State, alleging that supporters of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori are spreading false rumours about him due to fear of his political influence ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Reaffirming his loyalty to his political platform, Omo-Agege said he remains committed to the NDC despite past affiliations with the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he previously served as Deputy Senate President.
He said his political record remains consistent, adding that he had always supported party decisions when he was in the APC and would continue to do so under his current political alignment.
According to him: “Peter Obi is my presidential candidate for the 2027. I have endorsed him. I’m a political animal and when I was in APC I gave my all but now I’m in NDC, take it to the bank that my loyalty to the party stands.”
Omo-Agege also dismissed claims that he lost the NDC primary, insisting that he emerged victorious.
“If you believe I lost the NDC primary, then I have a plot of land to sell to you, I won the primaries,” he said.
He further alleged political intimidation from rival camps in Delta State, claiming that supporters of Governor Oborevwori were apprehensive about his influence ahead of the elections.
The former Deputy Senate President maintained that he remains focused on his political objectives and will continue to engage actively as the 2027 elections draw closer.
