Residents flee as suspected Boko Haram attack Borno community
Suspected members of Boko Haram on Monday evening launched an attack on Kautikari village in Chibok Local Government Area, Borno State.
The number of casualties could not be confirmed as of the time of filing this report.
Sources said the attackers invaded the community at about 6:00 p.m., forcing many residents to flee for safety as gunfire reportedly rang out.
Kautikari community has suffered repeated attacks in the past, highlighting ongoing security concerns in parts of Borno State despite efforts by authorities to curb insurgent activities.
A resident of the community, Mr. John Audu, who is currently in Maiduguri, confirmed the incident, calling for prayers for those affected.
“Families, let us pray for our people in Kautikari, which is currently under attack by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists,” he said.
