Tension as gunmen whisk away Plateau Water Board MD’s daughters, relative
Unknown gunmen have abducted two daughters and a relative of Apollos Samchi, the Managing Director of the Plateau State Water Board, during an attack on his residence in Jos, Plateau State.
The incident occurred around 12:53am on Monday, January 26, at Samchi’s home in the Rantya area of Jos South Local Government Area.
During the attack, the assailants also shot the family’s security guard, Benard Makjwan. He was rushed to Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
“On arrival at the scene, it was discovered that some armed men suspected to be kidnappers had forced their way into the house of Engr. Apollos Samchi and abducted his three children – Nanlop Samchi, Kyenret Samchi and Favour Samchi, all females,” a source said.
However, another source within the Water Board clarified that two of the kidnapped girls are Samchi’s biological daughters, while the third, Nanlop Dalak Tanko, is his relative who works with the Jos Water Service Corporation.
“The truth is that two are his daughters, and the other, Nanlop Dalak Tanko is not his biological daughter but a relative who works with us,” the source said.
As at the time of filling this report, efforts to get police confirmation proof abortive.
