The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has accused President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of undermining Northern voters ahead of the 2027 general election.

Baba-Ahmed made the allegation on Tuesday while speaking during an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television.

He alleged that the APC would distribute money on an unprecedented scale during the 2027 election campaign but warned that voters in the North would resist any attempt to influence their choices through financial inducements.

According to him, the region would not forget what he described as humiliation and neglect under Tinubu’s administration.

“We know they will share money that has never been seen distributed in politics. Their problem is undermining the Northerners. We will show them that we too are citizens whose voices and dignity matter,” Baba-Ahmed said.

The PRP chairman also questioned what campaign leaders advocating Tinubu’s re-election would tell residents of Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto, Katsina, Borno, Yobe, Kwara, Kaduna, Plateau, Kogi and Nasarawa states.

He challenged those campaigning for the President’s re-election to openly defend their position before voters in the affected states.

Baba-Ahmed further warned against any attempt to manipulate or overturn the outcome of the 2027 election if voters in the North reject Tinubu and the APC at the polls.

His comments come as political parties and their leaders intensify discussions and preparations ahead of the 2027 general election.
