Tinubu appoints Dr. Zainab Marwa into NDDC board, sends name to Senate
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded the nomination of Dr. Zainab Marwa to the Senate for confirmation as a member of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, representing the North East zone.
The nomination was contained in a letter read during plenary by the Senate President, indicating that the appointment complies with the provisions of the NDDC Establishment Act.
According to the President, the nomination is aimed at filling the vacancy left by Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas, who resigned from the board on March 30, 2026, to pursue his governorship ambition in Adamawa State.
Tinubu expressed confidence that the Senate would give the nomination swift consideration and confirmation to ensure continuity in the commission’s developmental mandate across the Niger Delta region.
Following the reading of the letter, the nomination was referred to the Senate Committee on NDDC for screening and further legislative action.
