President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday held a closed-door meeting with the extended leadership of the Senate at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in what sources described as a high-level engagement on pressing national issues.

Although details of the deliberations were not made public, it was gathered that far-reaching decisions were reached during the meeting, which reportedly focused on matters of urgent national importance.

The Senate delegation was led by Godswill Akpabio and included Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, and Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro.

Other lawmakers in attendance were Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia North), Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Danjuma Goje (Gombe Central), and Abdul Ningi (Bauchi Central).

The meeting comes amid heightened political and economic developments across the country, with expectations that its outcomes could shape legislative-executive relations and policy direction in the coming weeks.

As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency had yet to release an official statement outlining the resolutions reached.
