Tinubu writes Senate, seeks confirmation of NAHCON, INEC nominees
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday asked the Senate to screen and confirm Ambassador Ismael Abba Yusuf for appointment as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON).
In a separate request, the President also urged the red chamber to confirm the nomination of Rear Admiral Jemila Abubakar Marafa (Rtd.) from Adamawa State as a National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The requests were conveyed in two letters sent to the Senate and read during plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
After reading the letters, Akpabio referred the nomination of Yusuf and Marafa to the committee on Foriegn Affairs and Electoral Matters respectively for further legislative work and to report back in one week.
