Tragedy as three dies in Lagos-Ibadan road accident
A tragic accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday resulted in the death of three people and left several others with serious injuries, according to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
The agency, in a statement shared on its official X account on Wednesday, explained that the crash happened close to the Secretariat, in the direction of the Otedola Bridge.
LASTMA confirmed that three different vehicles were involved in the collision, adding that emergency responders worked quickly to manage the scene and assist the injured.
“Three vehicles were involved in the collision, resulting in three fatalities and several serious injuries
“LASAMBUS [Lagos State Ambulance Service] personnel are on the scene, providing medical attention to the injured victims,” it stated.
Emergency responders from LASAMBUS were on the scene administering medical care to the injured victims, while LASTMA officers and personnel of the Nigerian Police Force were also present, managing traffic and maintaining order.
Efforts, according to LASTMA, are underway to clear the crash site and restore normal traffic flow.
Motorists were advised to exercise caution when approaching the area.
