‘We dated same woman’ – Blaqbonez breaks silence on feud with Odumodublvck

Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has broken his silence on the ongoing feud between him and fellow artiste Odumodublvck.

The two musicians have been involved in a public dispute for several months, with Odumodublvck making allegations of sexual abuse against Blaqbonez and claiming that some people in the music industry were protecting him from the accusations.

The disagreement also extended to Blaqbonez’s record label, Chocolate City. In June, Odumodublvck renewed his criticism of the label, alleging that it had made repeated attempts to have him arrested.

Blaqbonez has now spoken about the long-running dispute, offering his response to the issues that have kept the feud in the public spotlight.

Following Odumodublvck’s allegations, Blaqbonez filed a N2.55 billion lawsuit against him for “defamation and harassment.”

In an interview on Nevon HQ, Blaqbonez disclosed that the feud started over a lady they both met at the “same place at the same time”.

He said he and the lady were involved in a non-exclusive relationship for about a year and that he was unaware she could also be seeing Odumodublvck during that period. However, he said she had previously told him that the rapper was interested in her and had been sending her flowers.

“The matter between us involves a lady. Somehow, some lies were told, and things escalated. The lady and I had a thing in the past. It started in 2023. We both met a lady at the same place and at the same time, and we were both interested in her. The lady and I had a non-exclusive relationship for a year; we had no label, ” he said.

“After a year, she said she wanted us to go our separate ways, but she continued calling me. I told her we had to set boundaries. At the time, I was with her, I didn’t know if she was also with Odumodublvck because we didn’t discuss that since we weren’t in a proper relationship.

“Then, after a while, she sent me a message saying she can not continue the friendship. I felt it was performative because I was the one always pushing for boundaries. I felt she sent it to give someone the impression that I was the one who wanted the relationship, so I called her to have a proper conversation, but she was sending voice notes. I was calling because I had a feeling that the person she was with knew me, and I needed to know if my feeling was true.

“However, Odumodublvck and I never spoke about being with the girl. But when we were together, she once told me he was simping over her and sending her flowers. I told her I didn’t want to get involved in that type of conversation. So, that earlier discussion made me feel that she was dating Odumodublvck.

“I then asked her friend, but she said no, and I tried to find out. If I had known, I would have been miles away from her. I would have asked Odumodublvck directly if we were that close. She wasn’t ready for a conversation either, so I blocked her.

“Then, in November, I ran into her, and we apologised to each other. I asked if she was dating Odumodublvck, and she confessed. I left her and left it at that.”

‘ODUMODUBLVCK AND I CUT TIES IN NOVEMBER 2024 BECAUSE OF THE LADY’

Blaqbonez further said he learned that Odumodublvck was planning a diss track against him a few days after he cut ties with the lady, which prompted him to contact the rapper to find out why they had become rivals.

“I was genuinely confused because we didn’t have an actual problem. So I messaged him to find out if we had an issue, and he told me never to greet him whenever we saw each other and insulted me. He called me and told me I was disturbing his babe, and I explained what happened between myself and the girl,” Blaqbonez said

“Then he asked when last I had intercourse with her, but I didn’t tell him, and he said we were now enemies. He called again, and I told him when we broke up. Later that night, the lady called me several times to call me a liar.

“Then the three of us got on a call, but the lady kept saying I was telling a lie. We went back and forth, and I ended up blocking both of them in November 2024. Since then, there has been constant harassment and attacks on social media against me and my team.

“When we were invited to Aso Rock, we supposedly came to terms because we signed a document not to attack each other again.”

‘WHY I AM SUING ODUMODUBLVCK FOR CRIMINAL DEFAMATION’

Blaqbonez also questioned Odumodublvck’s repeated sexual abuse allegations, saying the rapper never raised such claims during their previous personal interactions.

Blaqbonez added that he is challenging the sexual abuse allegation in court and intends to pursue the case to the end, saying he wants Odumodublvck to prove the claim and compensate him for the financial losses he has suffered due to the allegations.

“So now, he is saying I’m a sexual abuser, but over the years, he never brought it up. Even when he was messaging me every day for three months, he never mentioned me being a sexual abuser. So, I don’t know how they got to the point of calling me an abuser,” he said.

“Now, I have filed a lawsuit against him for criminal defamation, assault and theft. Theft because, in 2024, during an event, he came to me ranting, and when he was leaving, he snatched my shades. I didn’t want to make a scene, so I let him go. He came back a second time and snatched the rosary I was wearing.

“I’m also suing him over the sexual abuse allegation because that’s a big allegation. I want him to prove it.”
