2027: Ex-Abia Speaker Chinedum Orji declares bid for Reps seat
A former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Chinedum Orji, has officially announced his intention to contest for the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
Orji made the declaration on Friday while addressing a large crowd of supporters who visited him in Umuahia.
He explained that his decision was driven by a desire to continue serving the people of the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency.
He said, “I am deeply moved by the confidence you have reposed in me and the belief that together, we can build a constituency that works for all.
“Having had the privilege of serving in the State Assembly, I understand the demands of leadership and the urgency of delivering results that truly impact lives.
“I therefore offer myself once again, not just as an aspirant, but as a voice committed to development and the advancement of our people through quality representation at the National Assembly”.
Orji had contested for the same seat during the 2023 general election, but lost to Hon. Obi Aguocha of the Labour Party.
