2027: Umahi signs Tinubu’s APC nomination, calls it “victory form”
The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has signed the nomination form of President Bola Tinubu for a second term, describing it as a “victory form” and a signal of continuity in national development.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Francis Nwaze, Umahi said the endorsement reflects a broader commitment to sustaining ongoing reforms under the Tinubu administration.
He described the development as “a defining moment in Nigeria’s ongoing development journey,” adding that it represents “a collective commitment to continuity, stability, and the consolidation of gains recorded under the current administration.”
Umahi said the President’s leadership has driven key infrastructure reforms, especially in road construction and rehabilitation, which he described as critical to economic growth and national integration.
According to him, ongoing projects across the country demonstrate the administration’s determination to deliver tangible results, stressing that such progress provides a foundation for long-term national transformation.
He added that President Tinubu is well positioned to complete ongoing initiatives and further deepen development across all sectors, while also calling for sustained public support, noting that consistent leadership is essential to achieving long-term national goals.
The development follows earlier reports that House of Representatives member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, had obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of the President.
Faleke, also a prominent figure in Tinubu support groups, collected the forms in Abuja after the party officially opened the process.
The nomination forms, valued at N100 million, mark the formal commencement of President Tinubu’s re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed the presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027, while governorship and State Assembly elections are scheduled for February 6, 2027.
