Kano Reps member Mohammed Hassan dies in Abuja
The member representing Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency of Kano State in the House of Representatives, Mohammed Hassan, has passed away.
The lawmaker died on Friday at a hospital in Abuja after a brief illness. He was widely described as a legal scholar, politician, and respected community leader.
His death was confirmed in a statement by Muhammed Yaro Daba, Chairman of the lawmaker’s Media Promoters.
According to the statement, funeral prayers for the late legislator will be held at his residence in Abuja on Saturday by 2:00 pm.
The aide described Hassan as a leader worthy of emulation and prayed for Allah’s mercy upon his soul. He also prayed for strength for the family to bear the loss.
Hassan was elected into the House of Representatives in 2023 on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) before recently defecting to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He was last seen publicly during a political meeting at the Abuja residence of Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The late lawmaker is survived by three wives and 18 children.
