Man United names Michael Carrick as permanent manager
Manchester United have decided to appoint Michael Carrick as the club’s permanent manager, bringing an end to weeks of uncertainty surrounding the managerial position.
Football journalist Fabrizio Romano disclosed that the decision had been settled internally for several weeks, with the move fully backed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the club’s new leadership team.
A new contract is expected to be signed within the next few days.
The proposed agreement is believed to be either a two-year deal with an option for an extra year or a direct three-year contract. Carrick has reportedly accepted the offer and is prepared to complete the signing soon.
The former Manchester United midfielder and coach has impressed the hierarchy with his work since stepping in as interim manager.
