Makinde holds closed-door meeting with PDP BoT, interim NWC in Ibadan
Members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the factional Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Adolphus Wabara and the interim National Working Committee (NWC) headed by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki are currently holding a closed-door meeting with Seyi Makinde at the Governor’s Office in Ibadan.
Sources familiar with the development disclosed that the meeting may be connected to recent reports linking Governor Makinde with a possible presidential ambition on the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
The sources also hinted that discussions could touch on growing concerns over recent bandit attacks recorded in Ibadan, which reportedly occurred a few days after the governor’s political declaration.
Although details of the meeting remain undisclosed, political observers believe the gathering could shape ongoing realignments ahead of the 2027 general election.
“The meeting may not be unconnected with recent reports linking Governor Makinde to a presidential ambition on the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement, while discussions are also believed to touch on the recent bandit attacks in Ibadan,” the source said.
Meanwhile, further details of the meeting were still sketchy as of the time of filing this report, as discussions remained ongoing behind closed doors.
