Nigeria moved closer to the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Thursday as striker Victor Osimhen scored twice to lead the Super Eagles to a 4-1 victory over Gabon in extra time.
The win ensures Nigeria’s place in the World Cup play-off final, keeping their hopes of qualification alive.
The Super Eagles dominated the match, displaying resilience and attacking flair that ultimately overpowered Gabon.
Osimhen’s brace, complemented by contributions from Akor Adams and Ejuke in earlier minutes was enough for Nigeria to secure the victory.
