President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday swore in Mr Joseph Tegbe as Minister of Power and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs during a ceremony at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The inauguration followed the resignation of former Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu and former Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, who stepped down to pursue elective political offices ahead of the APC primaries.

The brief ceremony, held at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, was attended by family members of the new ministers and senior government officials.

Tegbe and Enikanolaiye were nominated by President Tinubu on May 5 and confirmed by the Senate a day later.

Before his appointment, Enikanolaiye served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations. A seasoned diplomat with more than three decades in Nigeria’s foreign service, he previously served as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and held diplomatic postings in Ethiopia, Serbia, Canada, the United Kingdom and India.

Tegbe, an engineer and management consultant from Oyo State, brings more than 35 years of experience spanning the public and private sectors. He previously held senior positions at KPMG Africa and worked with several institutions, including the Nigerian Communications Commission, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading, Shell, Huawei, General Electric and MTN.

The appointments form part of ongoing changes within the Federal Executive Council following the directive requiring ministers seeking elective offices to resign before participating in party primaries.
