APC disowns trending list of Primary election winners, describes it as fake

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disowned a purported official list of successful candidates from its recently conducted primary elections, describing the document circulating online as fake and unauthorised.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, insisting that the APC has not released any official list of winners from its primaries.

> “The APC hereby informs the general public that it has not released the official list of successful candidates from its recently-conducted primaries,” Morka said.

He urged party members, stakeholders and the general public to disregard any publication or report claiming to announce the outcome of the primaries.

According to him, successful candidates will be formally notified through the party’s official channels, after which certificates of return will be issued in line with established procedures.

Morka advised the public to rely only on official communications from the APC regarding the outcome of the primaries.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened its portal for political parties to upload the names of candidates who emerged from their primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Although the APC maintained that it has not officially released the list of successful candidates, sources within the party disclosed that internal collation and verification of results are ongoing before the final list is made public.

According to the sources, the party considered it necessary to distance itself from the circulating list in order to prevent misinformation and avoid confusion among aspirants, party members and the electorate.
