Poco Lee regains freedom after weeks in UK detention
Nigerian dancer and singer Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has reportedly regained his freedom after spending several weeks in detention in the United Kingdom over an alleged sexual assault case.
The entertainer’s release comes weeks after reports emerged that he had been arrested in the UK in connection with an allegation of sexual assault.
Poco Lee’s management had earlier confirmed that the matter was before a UK court and appealed to the public to allow the legal process to run its course.
The management also cautioned against treating the allegation as established fact, stressing that the dancer had not been convicted of any offence.
His team had further dismissed reports linking the case to alleged drink-spiking, stating that such claims were not contained in the allegations before the court.
However, a social media post circulating on Instagram claimed that Poco Lee had been released.
An Instagram user identified as @lifedramar celebrated the reported development, describing it as “freedom at last” and congratulating Poco Lee and those who had worked behind the scenes during the legal proceedings.
The post also urged celebrities and public figures to remain cautious about their surroundings and the people they associate with, citing the risks that can come with fame.
As of the time of filing this report, the circumstances surrounding Poco Lee’s release and the current status of the case were not independently confirmed beyond the circulating social media post.
The allegations against the entertainer remain allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a court of law.
