‘I knew I didn’t commit the offence I was accused of’ – Poco Lee breaks silence after UK release on bail (Video)

Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has spoken about his experience following his release on bail in the United Kingdom, maintaining that he is innocent of the sexual offence allegation against him.

The development comes ahead of his next court appearance at the Snaresbrook Crown Court, which has fixed September 15 for plea and trial preparation in the case.

The case followed Poco Lee’s visit to the UK in August for the Davido and Friends concert held at the Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14.

Speaking during a video call with social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, Poco Lee said his major concern while he was away was the welfare of his associates and the effect of his absence on their businesses.

The entertainer maintained that he did not commit the offence he has been accused of and said he remained confident in his innocence.

“I was just being myself. God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people. Jago could not do anything business, and I didn’t want to stress anyone,” Poco Lee said.

He explained that if he had actually committed the alleged offence, he would have viewed his detention as a consequence of his actions.

“If I was inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure,” he added.

Poco Lee also acknowledged the support he received from some of his associates and colleagues during the period.

“Nobody would have wanted to associate themselves with something like that, but Burna Boy stood by me, Jago and some of my other guys,” he said.

VeryDarkMan, who shared footage of the video call on social media, also commended Nigerian singer Burna Boy and Rahman Jago for their support for Poco Lee.

In the caption accompanying the video, VeryDarkMan wrote: “I just got off a video call with @rahman_jago_ and @poco_lee. I guess the next narrative will be this is AI. THERE IS A REASON WHY I BRAG WITH INTEGRITY, I AM NOBODY’S mate, WHEN I talk take it to the bank.”

Poco Lee’s comments come as the UK case proceeds. He has not been convicted of the allegation and continues to maintain his innocence as the matter goes through the court process.
