Cross River mourns as Power Commissioner Eka William slumps, dies in Abuja
William reportedly died suddenly on Saturday night at a hospital in Abuja. His death was announced on Sunday by his brother, Nkang William.
The Cross River State Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Mr Eka William, has died.
William reportedly died suddenly on Saturday night at a hospital in Abuja. His death was announced on Sunday by his brother, Nkang William.
In a statement, Nkang said the family was shocked by the commissioner’s sudden death, although he did not reveal the cause of death.
He described William as more than a brother, saying he was also a companion and an important member of the family.
According to him, the commissioner’s death had left a deep void that words could hardly describe.
He added that the family would continue to honour William’s memory by celebrating the life he lived and the positive impact he had on the people around him.
“Your name will not simply be remembered because you died; you will be remembered because you lived, and your life mattered,” he said.
Nkang prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased, and for God to give the family strength to bear the loss.
