‘The devil caused it’ – Anambra woman pleads for forgiveness, admits earning $300 from child sexual content
Anulika Onyeanusia, a 36-year-old woman arrested in Anambra State over alleged sexual abuse involving her daughters, has appealed to Nigerians to forgive her.
Onyeanusia was reportedly arrested in Onitsha a few days ago after she was accused of sexually abusing her daughter and allegedly using sex toys in the production of sexual content.
The case has attracted public attention, with the woman now seeking forgiveness following her arrest over the alleged abuse.
The arrest followed the circulation of a disturbing livestream involving the child, which sparked public outrage and calls for authorities to intervene and protect the minor.
During preliminary investigation, the suspect admitted to making money from the material, with $300 said to be the highest amount she had received.
She alleged that her husband was unaware of what she had been doing to their two daughters while attributing her actions to the devil.
“It was the handiwork of the devil. I am sorry, forgive me,” she said.
“The highest I’ve made is $300. It was one American guy that was paying me to do it, sometimes $100, sometimes $300.”
The suspect’s husband is also being questioned as part of the investigation.
In a statement issued on Thursday by Tochukwu Ikenga, the police public relations officer (PPRO), the command said her arrest also led to the rescue of four children, aged 2, 3, 6 and 9 years, as well as the recovery of sex toys and other items relevant to the investigation.
“The suspect is currently in police custody as the command intensifies its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and the possible involvement of other persons,” the statement reads.
“The husband of the suspect is also undergoing interrogation to determine whether he has any connection with the alleged offence.”
