‘Tinubu hospitalised, receiving treatment in France’ – Sowore

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that President Bola Tinubu is currently hospitalised in France.

Sowore made the claim on Monday while speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme.

His allegation followed concerns over Tinubu’s prolonged stay outside Nigeria after the President’s initially announced three-week official trip abroad.

Sowore claimed that some of the President’s public appearances were staged as part of an effort to hide what he described as a serious medical condition.

He also compared the situation to the administrations of former Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Umaru Yar’Adua, who both faced periods of prolonged absence from office due to health-related issues.

The allegation was made by Sowore during the television interview and was not independently established in the information provided.

“Reliable sources have said Tinubu is undergoing treatment in France. Those once-in-a-while appearances are designed to fool the public.

“They used the same language when Yar’Adua and Buhari were sick and in the hospital for a long time, saying the president can govern from anywhere.

“I’ve been in the US for the last two weeks, and I was also monitoring what was happening at the United Nations General Assembly.

“Tinubu is hospitalised in France. I don’t know what ailment it is because we don’t have those details, and that is why they have not discharged him from the hospital,” he said.
