2027: Osun will deliver 1.5m votes for Tinubu, says Adeleke after making APC PCC list
The Imole Campaign Council has pledged to mobilise 1.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, following the appointment of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke as the state coordinator of the President’s campaign council.
The council, through its Director-General, Senator Olalere Oyewumi, made the pledge in a statement issued on Tuesday, expressing confidence that Adeleke’s political structure and the Accord Party in Osun would work towards securing victory for Tinubu.
The council welcomed Adeleke’s inclusion in the revised All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council list, describing his appointment as recognition of his capacity to mobilise support for the President in the state.
Adeleke was named the Osun State Coordinator of the PBAT Presidential Campaign Council in the revised list, which also features Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori; Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo; and other political figures.
Oyewumi said the council believed Tinubu’s confidence in Adeleke’s ability to deliver electoral support in Osun would not be misplaced.
“The Imole Campaign Council welcomes the appointment of Governor Adeleke as State Coordinator of the PBAT Presidential Campaign Council in Osun.
“The appointment is a well-deserved one. We assure the President that his confidence in the ability of Governor Adeleke to deliver Osun in the Presidential election will not be misplaced.
“We promise the President, just like Governor Adeleke said sometimes ago, that we will deliver 1.5 million votes to ensure his victory in the coming Presidential election,” he said.
The council also urged residents of Osun State to support Adeleke, saying his leadership and campaign promises should guide their political decisions.
It added, “A vote for President Tinubu is a support for Governor Adeleke.”
Adeleke, who contested the Osun governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party, was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s State Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Ogunwole.
He polled 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes.
The Imole Campaign Council’s pledge comes as political groups begin preparations and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
