My family fueling rumours, endangering Natasha’s life – 2Baba speaks in viral video
Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Face or 2Baba, has publicly called out members of his own family, accusing them of spreading harmful rumours about his personal life and endangering the safety of his partner, Natasha.
In a strongly worded video message released on X late Thursday, the award-winning singer said the situation had “gotten dangerously out of hand,” insisting he would no longer remain silent while his name, mental health, and relationships were repeatedly dragged into controversy.
“I’m a grown man and I believe I have the right to be with whoever I want to be with,” he said. “My family, in the name of trying to save me, has actually destroyed me… and they have killed somebody’s daughter’s character. Natasha is getting death threats right now.”

2Baba, who acknowledged that he and Natasha, like any couple, have had disagreements, condemned the escalating attacks on her, describing the harassment as unfair and life-threatening. He stressed that the narrative being pushed by certain relatives had created a false impression that he was unstable.
“I’m perfectly okay. Anybody that has eyes can see me out there,” he said, citing his recent performance in Abuja. “How can you say you’re trying to save somebody, yet you’re messing my whole life up?”
The legendary artiste accused both family members and former associates of fabricating lies, spreading exaggerated claims, and turning private issues into public crises. He likened attempts to portray him as mentally unwell to “killing somebody.”
He added that this was not the first time his family had escalated internal disputes, recalling similar tensions involving his wife, Annie Idibia. “My family did this with Annie. This has become so dangerous right now… Natasha’s whole life has been ruined.”
2Baba also alleged that individuals had taken the harassment further by petitioning authorities and attempting to forcefully intrude into his home. He appealed for restraint, urging Nigerians to stop the death threats and allow him to live his life in peace.
His outburst comes amid renewed public scrutiny following reports that UK police briefly detained him over an alleged altercation with Natasha during his October tour.
The matter resurfaced during a recent Instagram Live session with broadcaster Daddy Freeze, where the couple were heard arguing in the background, fueling speculation of a relationship crisis and concerns over his wellbeing.
The singer promised to reveal more details in the coming days, saying he has remained silent for too long.
