NUJ FCT Council sends condolence message to Gombe Journalists’ families

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of journalists from Gombe State who lost their lives in a ghastly road accident.

In a condolence message signed by the Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, the council said it received the news with profound shock and sadness, describing the incident as a devastating blow to the journalism profession.

The council described the deceased journalists as gallant professionals who lost their lives in the line of duty, noting that they were shining examples of truth, courage, and dedication to the noble ideals of journalism.

According to the message, the loss of the journalists has created an irreplaceable void within the NUJ family, but their legacy of fearless reporting and unwavering service to humanity will continue to inspire colleagues across the country.

The NUJ FCT Council extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the NUJ Gombe State Council, and the entire NUJ nationwide, assuring them of its full solidarity during the difficult period.

“We stand with you in this moment of unimaginable grief,” the message read, while offering prayers for divine comfort, strength, and fortitude for the families, colleagues, and all those affected by the tragedy.

The council also prayed for the eternal repose of the souls of the departed journalists, asking God to grant them everlasting rest.

The tragic incident has continued to draw condolences from media professionals, unions, and stakeholders across Nigeria, as the journalism community mourns the loss of its members.
