Gov Bala Mohammed accuses Wike of orchestrating EFCC terrorism charge, slams Tinubu’s inner circle
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, of orchestrating a political campaign aimed at destroying his reputation and weakening his administration.
The governor made the allegation on Thursday during an interview on Sunrise Daily, a programme aired on Channels Television and monitored by DAILY POST.
Mohammed alleged that Wike was behind the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) terrorism financing charge recently filed against Bauchi State’s Commissioner of Finance, describing the move as politically motivated.
According to the governor, the actions against his administration are part of sustained pressure to force him to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“President Bola Tinubu is surrounded by hooligans and charlatans who want to destroy me,” Mohammed said.
“Some of them want me to join the APC. The FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, is a big drag on that administration, and the President should know. I have nothing personal against him.”
Mohammed further accused Wike of working against the interests of the opposition, describing him as an undertaker within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“He wants to destroy me because he knows what happened. He is an undertaker in our party. You know the background. He is neither here nor there,” the governor said.
Questioning Wike’s political alignment, Mohammed argued that it was impossible to claim loyalty to both the ruling party and the opposition simultaneously.
“You cannot be in two places at the same time. It is against the rule of nature. You cannot be a man and a woman at the same time. He is with them,” he stated.
The Bauchi governor also warned against what he described as rising arrogance and impunity among political leaders, cautioning that unchecked actions could have long-term consequences for the country.
“We are leaders today, but we should not think we are arrogant and can act with impunity without being questioned. All these issues have consequences,” Mohammed added.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Presidency nor the FCT Minister has responded to the allegations.
