Super Eagles secures 26th spot in latest FIFA world rankings
Nigeria’s Super Eagles have moved up to 26th position in the latest FIFA World Ranking released on Monday, marking an impressive rise of 12 places.
The national team climbed from 38th following a strong performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where they finished third overall.
With the new ranking, the Super Eagles are now the third-highest ranked team in Africa, behind AFCON champions Senegal, who are 12th in the world, and Morocco, ranked eighth globally.
Algeria and Egypt occupy fourth and fifth positions, respectively, on the African ranking.
Meanwhile, Spain, Argentina, France, England, Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Croatia make up the world’s top 10 teams.
